I know that there is a limit for some fields to use only 256 characters in RQM Live datasources. The example of that field is TC description.

How can I increase this limit?

To increase the limit in the Test Case Description field, you can do the following:
  1. (Optional) Download the newest "rqm40*-live.xdc" from
    https://clm-server-hostname:port/qm/admin#action=com.ibm.team.reportsManagement.reportDownloads
    It's located in the "Configuration Files for Rational Reporting" archive.
  2. Find the "rqm40*-live.xdc" file that is used for "RQM Live" ODBC connection.
    (Optional) Overwrite the currently used file with a version obtained in step 1.
  3. Open the file in a text editor and search for the following string:
    "xmlPath="/content/qm:testcase/dc:description"
  4. In every line you see that string in, change the number in "dbTypeLength="255"" to another value.
  5. Save the file and restart the report server
Whenever you add or remove QM Project Areas, you will need to redo the above steps (including 1.) to see them in reports.
