Hi, Bin, first  cross-server communication setup is the basic of setup report server with CLM application. If you install and use CLM, not only RQM server,  then when you finished your setup of CLM, the  cross-server communication  is set up for jts, ccm, qm and rm by default, you don't need to set up them manually; otherwise if you just install RQM server, without other CLM application and jts server, and you want to use existing jts, ccm and rm server, you need to refer the doc to set up cross-server communication via  https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/topic/com.ibm.help.common.jazz.calm.doc/topics/tservertoserverestablish.html

Once the  cross-server communication  between jts, rqm, ccm and rm is ready, you can go ahead to enable the report server with these applications. Please refer the steps in section "Specifying the location of the report server on Jazz Team Server" in http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v4r0/topic/com.ibm.rational.rrdi.admin.doc/topics/t_configure_custom_reporting_clm_setup.html.

For your 2nd question, I don't think you need to set up the reporting server root service, just use url like http:// [host name] : [port number] /reporting to specify the reporting server info for jts/ccm/qm/rm application.

Let me know if you have any other question, thanks!
