Linking RRC artifacts and Balsamiq mockups

joycelyn iloreta (1311) | asked Feb 25 '14, 2:10 a.m.

Are there developments or plug-ins to integrate RRC 4.0.2 with Balsamiq?  We would like to be able to create links between RRC artifacts and Balsamiq mockups.

The code in the URL below is meant for RRC 2.0.  Do we need to apply the same code to allow seamless integration between these 2 applications?

If the Balsamiq wireframes are stored in a repository where each "document' is available with a unique URL, then you can paste URLs into RRC documents or create external web links from RRC documents. This can be done manually (no need to create and configure integration software).

Hi Daniel,

I think the easiest way is to just paste the URL into RRC documents ot create external web links.  We may not have the time to perform additional configuration. Many thanks!

Joycelyn, this question has been asked before. See https://jazz.net/forum/questions/28602/balsamiq . I was not able to find any mentioned integration. RRC provides QSLC linking. If Balsamiq provides an OSLC interface an integration would be possible. Otherwise you could potentially upload files to a RRC requirement.

Hi Ralph,

I saw the comments posted last 2009 and it was meant for RRC 2.0. We are now using RRC 4.0.2, so I inquired if there are developments in this space.

Thank you for the additional information. It was helpful.

Hi Joycelyn,

the real development in the Jazz products is in the OSLC capabilities. Using HTML links was always possible. OSLC provides a better integration, provided the 3rd party vendor has an OSLC interface.

The general hope is that more vendors provide this kind of interface to allow integration. This is in fact happening in several areas. I think users of those other tools should ask their vendors for an OSLC interface.
