RFT adapter loses connection after sometime

A client is using RFT 8.3 and RQM 4.0.1. Client is executing a testsuite with 114 Testcases. After execution of 30 and odd test cases, the adapter is getting disconnected.
Any inputs on what could cause the problem and any solution/workaround for this ?

Hi Richa,

You might have verified this already. I would first check to see if this option is checked under Run Test Suite - Stop suite execution if any test does not pass:

Also, do you know whether the user is using a test cell with multiple RFT adapters? If so, you can double check for these settings under Manage Project Properties -> Execution Preferences:

Hi William,
Client has both the options selected under 'Behaviour of RFT adapter' in the execution Preferences page of the project properties.
Please let me know if any work-around.

Any inputs on the problem mentioned here. Apparently, it is specific to RFT 8.5 as client started facing the problem only after upgrade to RFT 8.5

Thank you for your response. This client did not have time to pursue this issue further.
I have received a similar issue from another client. When he starts execution of RFT scripts from RQM, after a few scripts, RFT script stops playing back and if he stops and restart the RFT adapter, the scripts resume from the script at which it had hung earlier. So some connection issue.
Any insight on what information should be collected to progress further ?
Also, if any one has any work-around for this issue.

This is an interesting problem. When RFT script stopped running, does you client see RFT adapter is still active(green) in RQM? Do they see any info in RFT adapter console?
If this is reproducible issue, you can check with escalation 269276 - comment 12 and see turning on debugging for adapter would come up with any more details or not.

Client ran the same test suite using RQM on test seven and it also fails (stops running after 30 secs , no tests completed).
He ran the testcase that stopped running on Test Seven using RFT and it
ran fine.
He ran the same suite only on Test Seven using Test Manager (installed
on Test Seven) and its still running (5 completed tests) so far.

note: The testsuite in RQM is a migrated Test Manager suite which was
migrated in mid 2012.

Its seems like a connection problem with RQM 4.0.0 and RFT 8.5. No
machines, no test suites, no testcases and no software has been changed
on any machine in past 18 months except an upgrade to RFT 8.5 (from
8.3) and a new Installation Manager.
