We are using the Formal Review feature for Test Cases, Test Scripts and Test Case Execution Results. We conduct the Formal Review while the artifacts are in the Under Review state. Is there a way to prevent edits to artifacts while the Formal Review is open?

JAZZ DEVELOPER
Hi Paul,

What version of RQM are you using? In version 4.2, we introduced Preconditions & Follow-Ups. These are helpful in general for restricting transitions. Supported preconditions can be found in the Info Center here - https://jazz.net/help-dev/clm/index.jsp?re=1&topic=/com.ibm.rational.test.qm.doc/topics/c_define_preconditions.html&scope=null

However, I think the functionality you are really looking for is the Auto-Lock capability. This can be found in 'Manage This Project Area'. In the left menu, under Test Artifacts, click Auto-Lock. Here you can define auto-lock behavior for each test artifact based on state. In your case, it is possible to set it to automatically lock the test artifact (preventing edits) when the artifact is transitioned into a 'Under Review' state.

Regards,
Tory
