RQM Menu is not showing up in Excel 2003

Vijay Sivashankar (111317) | asked Apr 19 '13, 11:39 a.m.
I have MS office Version 2003 on Windows 7

I have installed .net framework 1.1 and 4.5
Then installed MS interop utility
Then installed MS Excel Exporter Utility (X64) for RQM 4.0.2

After the installations, I don't see the RQM menu.
I have read the troubleshoot section and tried to install Office SP3, but I got the message I already have it.

Moving up to 2007 is not an option as my department doesn't have 2007 license.
Can any one help.

Hello Vijay,

It looks like you already tried the suggestion from the wiki page.
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RQMExcelWordImporter

There are other posts that mention the same behavior.  Maybe the suggestions from these posts will help.

Check the Excel Options to see if the Excel import is in active or inactive applications add-ins.

Check the macro settings
check permissions in folders C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mso2Rqm

I am using Office 2003.

I don't have Add-in under Options. I see that under Tools. When I go to that, I don't seeany thing about Active Application.

I havefew ad-ins like Action Analysis pack that I can enable. Nothing about Excel importer.

I don't have  C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mso2Rqm foler. I have the Roaming folder but not the MsoRqm folder.

I have checked the disable items and nothing is disabled.

Macro is enabled.

Hi Vijay,

If you have tried all the suggestions but continue to see the problem, I would suggest submitting a PMR to further investigate the issue.  You can submit a PMR using the SR tool.

How do I access the Service Request (SR) Tool?

Vijay,

I have got 2003 Excel on Win7 and there is no problem for me.
I believe you use the wrong install source.

Please uninstall the current:
MS Excel Exporter Utility (X64)

Use RQMExcelImporterSetup.msi(or exe) to install

and it should work.

 Resolving The Problem

  • One possible cause of this behavior is a setting in Excel that disallows plug-ins. To check if this setting is enabled perform the following steps
  • Open the instance of Microsoft Excel that is having the issue.
  • Go to the menu option Help > About Microsoft Excel.
  • Click the Disabled Items... button.
  • Check for any entries in the Disable Items window that would prohibit the install of an add-in or plug-in.

Once this is complete, install the Rational Quality Manager Excel importer again. The menu should now appear
