User property names mapping question

Jeremy Hughes (2164837) | asked Nov 26 '08, 5:48 a.m.
Hi, I have the user property names mapping in 'advanced properties' is
set to:

userId=preferredIdentity,name=cn,emailAddress=mail

I'd like to change the name to be a concatenation of two fields in LDAP.
Is that possible?

Many thanks,
Jeremy

No, Jazz does not support mapping a user attribute to multiple attributes in LDAP.

It looks like you are using IBM bluepages as your LDAP configuration. Can I know why you wish to map name to a contatenation of 2 fields in bluepages ? (I guess you wish to map user's name to a combination of first and surname in LDAP.)

I understand there can be many cn's associated with a user. But Jazz supports changing the name attribute value to one of the cn's available in bluepages. To change the user's name, open the user record in RTC and select the "Change" button to choose one of the available cn's.

That works from the rich client and not the web ui. I can live with that
though.

Thanks,
Jeremy
