Installation problems with Eclipse BIRT Chart Runtime Featur

Hi guys,

We have Team Concert (0.6.0.I20070608-0208) installed with all incubators to use requirements and reporting. When we try to install another plug in using the built-in update manager, we get the following error message.

Eclipse BIRT Chart Runtime Feature (2.2.0.v20070405-7Z8o2NsjsvsuCE7yyws1) requires feature "org.eclipse.emf (2.2.0)", or later version.

We tried it with several plug ins but received always the same error message.

Doing the same before the installation of all incubators, it's possible to install the plug ins.

Is there a way installing 3rd party plug ins after the complete setup of Team Conecrt.

Best regards
Matthias

Probably has to do with mixing plugins that you unzip (the incubators) with the update manager. Also, the version of org.eclipse.emf I have is 2.3.0, and it might be a mismatch with the 2.2.0 (even though it does say "or later version").

I would recommend unzipping the update for the plugin into your Jazz workspace, rather than using the update manager. Most people have a zip available, in addition to the update manager site.

See defect 25436 for a workaround to this problem. The only thing necessary to go to the Eclipse site and install from emf-sdo-xsd-SDK-2.3.0 the following files:

eclipse/features/org.eclipse.emf_2.3.0.v200706262000/* (5 files)
eclipse/plugins/org.eclipse.emf_2.3.0.v200706262000.jar

You should unzip all of these into the jazz/client/eclipse/emf of your client install.

Thanks,

it works fine now.

Anyhow, it would be nice if this problem could be fixed in a future Team Concert release.
