Error setting RRDI 2.0.1- Build and Deploy reporting Components

Pancha Gyaneswari Yelika (45811) | asked Dec 18 '12, 8:12 a.m.
Hi,

I am getting the following error when trying to setup RRDI for the first time in "Build and Deploy reporting Components".
Error:
com.ibm.rational.rrdi.setup.biserver.common.RRDIBIServerException: CRRRA2083E: Cannot connect to the report server.

Moreover, I could login to WAS and see that the IBM Cognos application is deployed and Started successfully.

Please help.

You didn't mentioned the configuration of the environment you have. But exactly the same issue is reported for Oracle database, refer to the link Workaround : RRDI Setup exception. So you need to make sure that the database instance is created with the same name as the Service that represents the instance.

Thanks Prasun.
I reinstalled the WAS and RRDI and is working fine. And I am using DB2 for the database.

I have the same situation with a WIindows 2008 R2 32-bits with SQL Server 2008 R2 database. Any hints you can provide?

Hi Talento,

I assume that all of your Architecture is on 32 bits, That is including WAS. Please note that there is a separate installaer for RRDI 32 bits. Here with I attached some of the screnshot, hope you can able to do. This is not the complete installation procedure, i am attaching only wherever i did a mistake.

Please note that I am conecting to DW database not the RIDW. in my pevious installation, I was pointing to RIDW. The DW Database was created while installing CLM for reporting.

Just check your RICM Database. Here my login Name is Manoj, so i want give all the privilage to that login name.

Hello@Guillermo Talento

after creating the schema, please do the following .

C:\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2 connect to RICM USER db2admin using db2admin

C:\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2 grant DBADM on database to user manoj

C:\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2 connect to DW

C:\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2 update db cfg for DW using LOCKTIMEOUT 240

C:\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2stop
