Access Groups

Zica Valsan (10124845) | asked Nov 29 '12, 9:07 a.m.
Hello,
I would like to know what are the restrictions concerning WI types for Access Group.
I remember I saw a presentation where a list of such constrains was presented like:  not available for any other artifact (plan, source code, test cases) not available for WI categories or specific WI types.  And here is the bottleneck, what a specific WI type  means?
Thank you,
Zica

Hi Zica,

I think that restriction, "not available for specific WI types" might mean that you cannot use an Access Group to determine who can view a certain type of defect. But you can use Access Groups to determine who can view specific, individual work items. You can add the "Restricted Access" field to that work item type's editor and now you will be able to assign an Access Group to that field for individual work items.
