RQM Project rename impact

Hi,

What are the negative impacts or renaming a project. Note that we are not moving the project from one server to another. We just want to rename an existing project to a new name. Does all the links and integrations be intact or needs any more changes?

We are using RQM 3.0.1. with integration with ReqPro, CQ and Insight. I understand  that the Alias name will remain the same. However what is the impact interms of

- Integrations - CQ, ReqPro, Insight

- Remote execution of scripts and using RFT adaptor

- Using utilities like copy, xl word import, url utility

- Reporting

- Any other admin related tasks

I found some forums where there has been some discussions about it, but still would require some explict overall impact

Note, the project area alias used by the RQM Reportable API will not change so your ETLs/utilities (e.g. RQM Copy Utility and RQM URL Utility) are unaffected.  However, you will have to select the new project area in the RQM Excel/Word Import Utility dialog.

Note, ReqPro does not store any RQM URLs so this integration is unaffected.

 Srikanth,
Regarding the concern/question for Rational Functional Tester:

"- Remote execution of scripts and using RFT adaptor"

Take a quick look at section #3 in the online help for RFT (Configuring and running the IBM Rational Functional Tester adapter for IBM Rational Quality Manager)

There is a caveat related to the renaming of an RQM project you should be aware of:

#3) In the Server URL field, type the Rational Quality Manager server URL to login to Rational Quality Manager. Type the URL in the format https://<server name>:<port number>/<context root> where <server name> is the Rational Quality Manager server host name that you specified in the hosts file. For example, type  https://RQM01:9443/qm .
Note: If the Rational Quality Manager server is renamed, complete these steps:
  1. If you have an entry for the Rational Quality Manager server in the hosts file, update it with the new server name.
  2. Update the Server URL field with the new server name.
  3. Configure the adapter again to point to the new URL

Thanks Ara,

We are not renaming the server, but only the project.

Does that requires the reconfiguration of adapter as well?
