Duration based tasks on RTC

Without the ability to plan tasks based on duration, what is the better way to plan a continuous task in a traditional plan with some hours day by day?
For example: Project Manager needs to record managing tasks during all the iteration/phase period. Thanks in advance. Adriano Farias. |

One of the ways is to create a new work item type for something other than the development task and defects.
You can also mark this type as the Plan Item (Top level item) so that the Estimates specified for these type of work items are not considered for the load bar or progress bar calculation.
