RPTuser in a LDAP environment

Amir Ghaemian (4811315) | asked Feb 28 '12, 5:41 a.m.
Hi

We are setting up a Insight 1.1 with CLM 3.0.2. Now I know that the RPTuser is created in the JTS repository by default. But you do set a password for this user so my question is if you have a LDAP authorization setup for your JTS users will this affect Insight in anyway? (anything to keep in mind?)

For example does the user actually perform a login to the system at any point? Does the password of the RPTuser ever get auth checked?

Regards
Amir

JAZZ DEVELOPER
Amir,

The RPTUSER account is a special DB account created by the Insight installer to access the data warehouse when running reports. It is not stored in the Jazz respository DB. Each DB vendor (DB2, Oracle & MS SQL Server) has its own way of storing the credentials for a DB user. For DB2 on Windows, the RPTUSER DB user account is the same as the RPTUSER user account in Windows.

Please note that the RPTUSER DB user credentials are cached in the signon associated with the RIDW data source connection. If for some reasons, the password for the RPTUSER DB user account is reset, you will see the prompt for user credentials when running a report. To correct this, update the rptuser signon password associated with the RIDW data source connection.

Kelvin
