Rational Insight License Problem

Nikolaus Utomo (113) | asked Dec 07 '10, 5:59 a.m.
Hi,

I have installed Rational Insight 1.0.0.2 with DB2 9.5 Fix Pack 3, and License Key Administrator 8.0. I download the license from Rational License Key Center (IBM Rational Insight -> IBM Rational Insight Standard Edition Floating User license key). I put the license file on "C:\Program Files\IBM\RationalRLKS\common\insight_float02.upd"

I follow this docs http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rentrpt/v1r0m0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.rational.raer.install.doc/topics/t_ri_licensing.html to install the license (Installing the Rational Insight licenses).

When I tried to access the insight URL, it gave me error message as below

ERROR

CRREL1001E: You cannot log on to the Rational Insight report server.
The Rational Insight report server could not acquire a server license from the Rational License server.
Contact your server administrator.

The "insight_server" license requires you to create an ibmratl.opt file containing the following options:

GROUP AuthServers <report_server_host_name>
INCLUDE insight_server GROUP AuthServers

It looks like you are missing the ibmratl.opt file. For instructions on how to create the ibmratl.opt file, see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rentrpt/v1r0m0/topic/com.ibm.rational.raer.troubleshooting.doc/topics/r_licenseserver.html.
