ClearQuest has a feature called 'inbound emails' that can automatically creates CQ records based on email message inside a specific POP3 mail box. This is useful to integrate CQ with other defect management systems. Does RTC provide a similar feature? Thanks.

Found a Wiki link that might help.

RTC does not provide any support for that out of the box, but it should
be possible to create a procmail (or other mail processor) script that would open bugs for incoming e-mails using the workitem REST interface. I believe that people have done similar integration for Bugzilla and e-mail before Bugzilla introduced official e-mail support. yanli wrote: ClearQuest has a feature called 'inbound emails' that can |

This question has been asked on this forum not that long ago, unfortunately I can't find the thread.
I did find an older one though: https://jazz.net/forum/questions/60742/email-importer The conclusion is that the relevant story is sadly planned for backlog: https://jazz.net/jazz/web/projects/Rational%20Team%20Concert#action=com.ibm.team.workitem.viewWorkItem&id=95864 |

Hi Yanzhuang,
as far as I know did IBM try this but related to some problems they put it into backlog long time ago. There are some ideas to go forward on this but at the moment nothing happens. Even this part in "development wiki" is just some kind of testing - this is why it's not in the productive wiki :) There is an external company "CM-logic" which is specialized on this. I think they are an IBM partner. They do have a platform called "JazzConnect" with some different parts in it. Two of them are "EMAIL Reader" and "EMAIL Sender". Those packages allow you to modify and create work items per email and many many more things. JazzConnect EMAIL Reader JazzConnect EMAIL Sender Hope this helps, Simon |
