Restrict a state for WI by role.

Hi

In RTC 3.0.1 or 3.0.1.1, is it possible to restrict a state for a WI by role? For example, I have a Developer Role that I don't want to be able to close a Defect only a higher role should be able to close a defect.

In the Process Configuration>Team Configuration you can set which role can trigger a workflow action. You can specify which role is allowed to use which state transition.

How would he accomplish this Ralph?  Once he gets to Process Configuration>Team Configuration, then what ...?

I also don't see this..

I see you can have a role that does not have permission to change the state at all, but not by workitem
and not by workitem current of future state

You would want to create a 'permitted action' under the 'Modify workitem' section and then assign this action to say Project Manager. who should be able to move the state of the workitem to closed.

Best Regards
