Framework Manager and Windows 2008 64 bit

Hi!

I have single server installation of Insight on Windows server 2008 (64 bit). DB2 is 9.7 (fixpack 4), again 64-bit.

When I run Framework manager I get error ->
==================================
QE-DEF-0285 The logon failed.
QE-DEF-0325 The logon failed for the following reason:
RQP-DEF-0068 Unable to connect to at least one database during a multi-database attach to 1 database(s) in:
RIDW

UDA-SQL-0031 Unable to access the "RIDW" database. Check that the connection parameters to the database are configured correctly. For example, ensure that the data source connection contains the signon information, such as a password, to connect to the database.
UDA-SQL-0107 A general exception has occurred during the operation "attach".
SQL1031N The database directory cannot be found on the indicated file system. SQLSTATE=58031
=======================================

How to resolve? Do I require 32bit DB2 client?

Thanks for help.

Yes, you will need the 32-bit client. Please refer to the following technotes which highlight this:

Interestingly all other tools work and even reporting work. Only challenge is Framework Manager.

I am sure, I have seen using Framework Manager shipped with 1.0.1.1 used by one of the expert on Windows 64 bit machine with Db2 64 bit server.

Let me check whether I can have both Db2 64 bit server and 32 bit client installed on same machine. Later will try Framework Manager.

Thanks. Let me know if there is any other solution. I am using Insight 1.1.

Hi!

I reinstalled db2 and insight. This time I installed 32 bit dB2 (9.7 fp5) on windows 2008 (64 bit) machine and also reinstalled insight. But still same error.

Basically, Insight and DB2 is installed on E drive. Not sure whether that makes difference.

I am trying to run Framework manager on the same machine where Insight and DB2 exists. Congnost connection succeeds, but Framework manager fails to connect to same data source. Cognos connection string is -

PATH variable settings are ->

What is missing? Why fM still raises same error, ie.

:lol:

When I login as db2admin (which has access to database and database directory), I could successully sign-on to RIDW in Framework manager.

Not sure what access is missing for general user (in fact other user is administrator, but does not have permissions for RIDW in Db2) to allow Framework manager connect to RIDW?

Let me know if you have any input.
