error: project area not appear as a folder in the CQ workspa

During setup CQ Gateway for one project, the interop page (http://localhost:8081/InteropGateway/InteropServlet) shows the project area does not appear as a folder in the CQ workspace under the Personal Queries/JazzConnector folder.

But, I do have proper folder structure in CQ. Any comment? Thanks.

In CQ, I have the following

Public Queries <folder>
JazzConnector <folder>
Project Area name <folder>
CQ Query <query>

-----
Jazz Team Servers:
URI: https://...../jazz
Status: OK
Project Area: XXX
No records will be synced to this project area because it does not appear as a folder in the CQ workspace under the Personal Queries/JazzConnector folder

Hi Gary,

In CQ, you said you have the folder structure under the Public Queries folder, but the error message said it is looking for it under the Personal Queries folder. You probably need to change the value in the cq.queryTreeRoot property in the cqconnector.properties file to reflect the query folder structure you have set up in CQ or modify the query folder structure in CQ to live under the Personal Queries folder.

Oh, that was a copy/paste error. I tried using folders in the Public Queries directory, it did not work. I then tried creating the same fodler structure under Personal Queries, I saw the same issue. I'm sure the folder structure was consistent with what was used in the properties file.

BTW, the project area has only three characters. I wish this does not matter.

Thanks.

When you change either the names or the locations of any queries, or the value of the cq.queryTreeRoot property, you need to stop and restart the CQ gateway for it to notice the change.

The length of the project area name does not matter. It does matter that the CQ query folder name matches the Jazz project area name.

Thank. I'm sure that the CQ query folder name matches the Jazz project area name. I do have two RTC instances runing on the same server. Will this cause an issue?

It shouldn't as long as things are configured properly. One CQ Gateway with multiple Jazz servers is a supported configuration.

Is this related to a previous thread where you were using virtual ip addresses on the same machine? Are you still not able to get the CQ connectors working in such an environment?

I setup two instances of CQGateway on the same server using virtual IPs. One worked just fine (it is my testing project), but the other one (the one we are talking about) does not work. To eliminate any hidden configuration conflict, I uninstalled CQConnector for the testing project, so this is the only CQGateway on the server right now.

Restart the gateway, with tracing on, and notice if you see the message:

"The project area ? specified in the CQ Query Tree cannot be found on any Jazz Server"

This would help us debug your issue.

Thanks, Rich. Could you please specify how to turn on the tracing you referred to?

Sorry Gary - I probably should have said, logging or debugging.

See the RTC help:

Managing change and releases > Configuring and using the ClearQuest connector > Working in a configured environment > Viewing log files.
