BIRT: Re-size widget chart depending on tab layout

I would like to make my micro-chart change size dynamically(not whole report, just chart area). It's possible for ZOOM, but can I "catch" change of number of columns in page layout? Or this information is not "visible" for BIRT Engine?

Currently the information is not visible to BIRT engine. But I would worry about performance if this was possible as the chart would have to be recomputed on each resize.
