Non-IM Installation of RTC failing with file cannot be found
We are in the process of upgrading from RTC v2.x to v3.0.1.1 on Linux SLES 10. Our RTC v2.x has a context root of rtc (rather than jazz). For this reason, we are not able to use the IBM Installation Manager to install the v3.0.1.1 RTC server software. This is per the RTC upgrade instructions in the CLM 2011 help files:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clmhelp/v3r0m1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.jazz.install.doc/topics/t_command-line_installation.html We edited the silent-install-server.xml file (which contains variable data about installation options) as instructed, and ran the script "./userinstc -acceptLicense -dataLocation /tmp/silent-install/data -silent -showVerboseProgress -nosplash -input silent-install-server.xml". The script failed with two error messages: CRIMA1CA3C7CEE ERROR: The com.ibm.team.install.calm package specified in the /tmp/RationalInstall/im/linux.gtk.x86/silent-install-server.xml file cannot be found. CRIMA1CA3C7CEE ERROR: The com.ibm.team.install.jfs.app.product-rtc-standalone package specified in the /tmp/RationalInstall/im/linux.gtk.x86/silent-install-server.xml file cannot be found. We double checked that there is not a typo in the path name (as per another forum item) and we also tried unpacking into a short path name (as indicated in another forum item). Both were to no avail. Anybody have any ideas? |

Since there's been no response on this for a couple of days, I submitted a PMR. I'll try to remember to post the solution here when the PMR gets resolved.
