How to fix Planning in Academic projects

There was a bug in the Academic Process that prevented the use of the planning web ui. It would give you an error that read:

Planning can not be used because the Project Configuration is invalid. Check the details for further information.: The backlog iteration '/development/backlog' for the timeline 'development' could not be resolved.

This problem has since been fixed in the Academic Process and new projects should function normally. If you have an existing project that is exhibiting this behavior, watch the video below to learn how to correct it.
