Build engine: CRJAZ1247I The request to the server failed

Daniele Grignani (16131) | asked Oct 13 '11, 4:54 p.m.
Hi
I have got some problems with RTC build engine. When I try to make a build in some circumstances the build engine gives me the "CRJAZ1247I The request to the server failed etc." response. My "Content Temporary Directory" property isn't set to /tmp directory (my RTC installation is under Linux), but it is set to another directory and the error isn't systematic. Sometimes the build works fine, sometimes not. And when the build engine fails, some files are downloaded, other ones not. For example, when the same project fails twice, the error doesn't happen on the same file. And if I try to build it once again, it may happen that the same project builds fine...
The same error appears also when I try to check-in many files. To overcome the problem, it is sufficient to check-in few files at a time.

Thanks in advance for help

Daniele

Hi,

the error below indicates a network error that actually CCM has connecting its database. The connection string also contains localhost. Maybe you should use the full qualified host name.
The fact that it surfaces with JBE could be related to higher I/O load when JBE runs. I would check the application and system logs for other errors and also check the database log. Maybe there are other hints why that is happening.

thanks for your reply, Ralph. I will do as you advice. There is a problem, in my system, maybe. My RTC 3.0.1 now is working with Oracle 10g XE and diagnostic service, in Server Administration area, tell me that: "The database JDBC driver version check failed. $CRJAZ1900E Oracle JDBC driver version detected is "10.2.0.1.0XE" (major = 10, minor = 2), but an Oracle 11 driver that is at least Oracle 11.2.0.2.0 is required", but with driver for Oracle 11, RTC with Oracle 10g doesn't work. Because RTC seemed to work fine, I have not updated Oracle: is it possible that the error is this one?

Thanks

Daniele

Hi Daniele,

that is certainly possible an incorrect driver could probably cause issues with accessing the database. But I don't know since I am not an Oracle expert. I searched the help and other sources for hints, but couldn't find any.

Thanks for your reply, Ralph. Anyway, I have changed CCM connection string and in this moment it is using the full qualified host name: everything seems work fine.

Thanks for the advice

Daniele
