Average time per work-state

Hassan Shalla (111) | asked Jul 25 '11, 10:47 a.m.
Each work item has a history associated with it, and one thing you can gather from this is when a work item is moved from one state to another.

Does anyone know of a way to export the history of work items? I'm trying to calculate the average time that it takes for work items to get through a given work state (e.g. average time spent in development).

Any other thoughts on how to figure this out?

Hi,

I just went through the CLM reporting workshop for RTC 3.0.1 and found that in the RRDI there is such a report that will show how long work items remained in each state.

Previous to RTC 3.0.1 the reporting option for RTC was BIRT. Now an additional option and the one to be considered going forward is Rational Reporting for Developer Intelligence (which you need to explicitely install and enable). It is Cognos based and gives you among other things the report listed above.

Notice that RRDI is bundled with RTC or any other CLM product in 3.0.1 and does not require additional licensing. But since it is optional, you need to explicitely install it.

There is also a section on customizing reports and queries.
