RRDI - Content Server won't start - CM-SYS-5152

Larry McCarthy (2102224) | asked Jul 24 '11, 10:41 p.m.
Linux 64-bit, DB2 64-bit, RRDI on-board WAS 7.0 32-bit. Freshly installed. First try of http://rrdi-server:9080/reporting gives an "Allow server rrdi-server to collaborate..." (yes) and then DPR-ERR-2109.

In /opt/IBM/RRDI/cognos/logs/cogserver.log, it says (less XML tags):

Failure. DPR-DPR-1035 Dispatcher detected an error.
CM-SYS-5192 An error occurred with Content Manager.
CM-SYS-5152 Content Manager is unable to update the negotiation table.
The data types of the operands for the operation '=' are not compatible or comparable.
SQLCODE=-401, SQLSTATE=42818, DRIVER=3.62.56

There is an eerily similar forum post at Cognoise.com that says this problem in Cognos 8.4.1 is caused by using 64-bit JDBC drivers (32-bit JDBC drivers are required). The JDBC driver used by the report server and the content server are down under /opt/IBM/RRDI (there are about 4 db2jcc.jar's) , right?

Any chance one of those isn't 32-bit? Or is it something else?

Thanks,
Larry.

Larry,

Is your DB2 installation by any chance a DB2 Express-C edition? This may be where the problem is, based on the symptom showing in the log file.

You would need to have, at a minimum, DB2 Express Server edition here.
