Good question!

I found that if you go into the WebUI admin pages (go to the CCM admin pages, select the project area and this should open up the project definition. Go to the timelines tab, expand out the timelines and one of the icons on the top of the page is "set selected iteration as current"

I suspect you need project admin rights to do this
