vishnu kumar (66157) | asked Dec 02 '10, 2:47 a.m.
Hello Team,
We have recently installed RTC 3.0 on AIX platform and configured everything successfully as per documentation. We are able to connect/login to RTC 3.0 server from web browser.

But when we are trying to make a repository connection using RTC client 3.0.We are getting following error.

Log in Failed
CRJAZ1863E This client may not log in directly to the Jazz Team Server. Please log into an application instead.

What can be the cause of this problem ?

Thanking you
Vishnu Kumar

Hi

Check your repository connection on the Eclipse client - is it pointing to /ccm rather than /jazz? So an example might be https://<servername>:9443/ccm.

Hi Anthony,
thanks for replying..but we are using https://<servername>:9443/jts as a string while making repository connection.it did not worked out.

We also tried /ccm but again we got the same error.

Any help will be highly appreciated as we are not able to use RTC 3.0 server at all using RTC 3.0 client.

Thanking you

Did you try /jazz? That's the default context for RTC setup. If you're using a CLM server, the default context for RTC is /ccm.

/jts is not the a context that is allowed from the Eclipse client. The /jts context is used in a browser to configure the server. If you are unsure of the context, it's what was used during server setup when registering your applications.

I have seen one report of problems occurring because the "Network
Connections" preference in Eclipse now defaults to "Native". So one
thing to try is to switch the Active Provider from "Native" to "Direct".
This is reported in work item 141323. The error message reported there
isn't the one you are seeing ... so this probably isn't your problem,
but it wouldn't hurt to try (:-).

Cheers,
Geoff

Hi Geoff,
Thanks for replying..I have reinstalled the RTC 3.0 again and did the configuration as per instructions given in Information center.

- Installed it using IM.verified the installation under /opt/IBM directory.
- Changed the teamserver.properties and created tables for both dbs.
- Changed server.xml and web.xml and enabled LDAP based authentication.

After these changes i ran setup on <URL>/jts/setup and configured all the settings.
On Registering Application page.I have registered ccm as an application and then click next.It showed me an error of unauthorized access.
I am able to access
https://sdwbaix11.in.ibm.com:9443/jts/admin
but can not access ccm/web.

What can be the issue ?

Thanking you
Vishnu Kumar

Hi Vishnu

Ok - let's go back a step or two.

The correct address for your server from the RTC Eclipse client is https://<server>:9443/ccm - as Geoff mentioned, don't try /jts as this will not work. The RTC application on the serer has two parts: the common/core functionality shared with other tools like RQM and RRC - these are the bits you see when you use the /jts context; and the "proper" RTC bits - this is in the /ccm context. So when you use your Eclipse client, you need to use the /ccm address for your connection. The *only* exception is if you have upgraded this installation from RTC 2 - in which case you can set up RTC to use the /jazz context. If you are doing a new install of RTC 3 - you should not use the /jazz context or try and set it up.

Now you have re-installed, the problem seems to be your installation has not completed correctly - this is the problem we need to fix first. I think the problem is you changed the settings for database and LDAP manually rather than using the setup programme to do it. I suspect the user you are using to run the setup must be in the JazzAdmins LDAP group.

It may be safer to uninstall everything again, then follow the setup instructions exactly. I apologize in advance if this is what you have done (followed the instructions) - let us know and we can debug this further.

regards
