found out that the Duration value in WS_STRING_EXT view is different than in WORKITEM_CHNGS table. the Duration value in WS_STRING_EXT is actually coming from WORKITEM_CHNGS, right? Why the number does not match?

WS_STRING_EXT auto-aggregates the DURATION column by doing a SUM. the rows you are seeing are not the real database rows but are probably an aggreagte of multiple rows.
