re-create rptdesign from report template

We've create a custom report with BIRT and ,with the rptdesign file generated, we've create a new report template on our test environment.
Unfortunately, for a media failure, we've lost the rptdesign file.
Is there the possibility to re-create the rptdesign file from the report template?
Or, is there the possibility to duplicate the report template (without re-creating the rptdesign file) on our production environment?

Hi Angelo,

Unfortunately I don't know of an easy way for you to retrieve this
content. I don't think there is any REST API that will let you do this,
although it's possible if you want to write a Java service and deploy it
to your server, or write some client code that talks to the IContentService.
