Create new link types

Hello,

Is it possible to customize the process to create new link types between
work items? I would like to extend the default ones (i.e, Parent,
Children, Blocks, Depends On.....) and create a new link item type to
customize relationship between different work item types?.

I am using RTC 3.0 M6a

Thanks,

Ana

Currently, this is not possible. We are discussing this in:

Hello Patrick,

I have been able to contribute a new WI LinkType (basically adding a new WI Link Type with a different name) following the article:

https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ProgrammaticLinkCreation

Is there any possibility to restrict the Work Item Types such a WI Link can be used with?

On the other hand, is the WI you mention referring to a "whole-defintion" of a Link Type?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,

Jorge.

Currently, we don't have the configuration option to restrict link types
to work item types.

Yes,
https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/119200
is referring to configuring new link types at runtime in the process
configuration. As opposed to contributing them via plugin.xml, which
requires you to provision all servers and clients.
