test plan sections and PDF files

I have created a test plan using RQM 2.0.1. In the business objectives, I have a bullet list. However, when I create the PDF file of the test plan, I see output looking like:

<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><SPAN id=""> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in
0pt 27pt"><FONT size=2><SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'garamond','serif'">The purpose of this plan is
to fully describe the testing required to: </SPAN></FONT></P> <UL> <LI> <DIV class=MsoNormal
style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt 27pt">

Is there some option I need to get this to print out in the PDF file the way it looks on the screen?

By the way, I had a very difficult time entering and editing the data in the fields. I was not able to paste the text in from another document. I finally had to type it in. The cursor also kept going places I did not want it to go. Anyone else experience this and is there a better way to work this?

Whenever you copy and paste content from a 3rd party tool (especially MS Word as it appears you did here) you need to press the "Validate" button on the Rich Text editor then re-save your testplan. The reason is because MS Word does not follow the rules of XML in modeling their content and our PDF generator doesn't understand it.

For instance in the text you pasted above I see class=MsoNormal which is incorrect XML grammar. It should be class="MsoNormal". When you press the "validate" button RQM executes a cleanup algorithm that tries to find these types of mistakes and fix them.

I don't know why you might have been having trouble with the editor as far as entering text. If you can tell me what browser and version you are using I'll get one of our UI guys to take a look.

I understand what you are saying. However, I did not see a validate button. The browser I am using is IE 7.0.5370.13.

Once I typed in the bullet lists using the editor, I am now seeing the content in the PDF file but no bullet lists. The first part of the file now shows:

"The purpose of this plan is to fully describe the testing required to: Correctly simulate the user load expected".

However, the sentence starting with "Correctly" should have been a bullet.

Another problem is I am seeing the Business Objectives section duplicated! If I try to delete the extra part and save, it comes back.

Never mind about the validate button. I found that. I was also able to delete the latest duplicate section in the Business Objectives. I expect it to come back like it has in the past, but we will see.
