Add Document Template in RRC

babu vijay prasad kamineni (7623016) | asked May 03 '10, 4:15 a.m.
I am using RRC 2.0.0.1. As of now there is only one template Vision Template for Document. Can i add a Template like BRD template, so that i can choose it while creating a word document.

Can any one please tell me in which file format the template will be stored in the server? so that i can convert the template file to that format and use it.

Templates in Composer are just artifacts that you identify as templates.
That is, just create a document (or sketch or diagram) in the editor as you want it to be for your template. In the explorer or home page, use the context menu to "Create Artifact Template". That's it. You now have a template you can select for creating new artifacts.

Thank you for your reply for adding a Document template in RRC. I could create a document in the editor. After that I couldnt continue from there. Can you please elaborate the explanation. That would be helpful for me. I couldnt find the context menu to create Artifact template. Can you provide me a supporting screen shot for that?

Also (as I recall) you need to have project admin permissions to create a document template. If your user ID does not have the right permissions you won't see the option to create artifact template.

Yes, Daniel is correct. You need the Save Template -> Modify permission. By default, Administrator has that permission, but Author does not. You might want to define a new role which includes the permission for creating templates as opposed to handing out Admin permission to those that need to perform this function.
