How to copy lab resources?

Jirong Hu (1.5k9295258) | asked Mar 23 '10, 3:30 p.m.
Hi

We have hundreds of lab resources in different project areas?
1. How can I copy all lab resources in one project area to another in the same server?
2. How can I copy all lab resources in one project area in production to another project area in sandbox? Production and sandbox are different servers, so I kind of need to export and import?

Thanks
Jirong

Hi Jirong,
The most reliable way to do a "mass copy" from one server to another is to export and reimport your repository using repotools.

Another utility you can look in to is the RQM Copy Tool:
https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/RQMCopyUtility
It is available from the "All Downloads" tabs on the jazz.net download pages for RQM. I suggest using the most recent that was released with RQM 2.0.1. One thing to keep in mind is that the CopyTool only copies the most frequently used attributes for Lab Resources. This includes OS info, some basic hardware info, network info, and software.
Hope that helps.
