Mail notification through @userID
By mentioning the user in a discussion with @userID, the user receives an automated email that he has been mentioned in a work item. The problem we are currently facing is, that we are using IDs which are alphanumeric and are bound to this due to naming conventions. Is there a possibility to trigger this email notification with the user name or email?

Is there a possibility to trigger this email notification with the user name or email? We have this same issue - does anyone know a solution? It appears that on the eclipse client a content assist is available and you can find a person by their name, but I haven't figured out how to get this to work on the web interface, or if that's even possible. Anyone know if this is possible now, or planned for the future? |
Hi,
upgrade to RTC 3.0.1 and you will get a new icon in the rich text editors in the web, allowing to e.g. add user links. This pops up a search window where you can search by name. It will add the correct @id for the user into the text. To see screenshot go to the 3.0.1 M13 what's new and look for rich text improvements. - Arne |
Hi, Thank you! That's exactly what I was looking for. |
