Email notification for new Work Items

Can I send out email notifications when I assign, or someone else assigns me a new Work Item? This would be helpful so I would have a chance to see new work items quickly in my email.

Yes! After adding the values:

com.ibm.team.workitem.notification.mail.from_name MY_EMAIL
com.ibm.team.workitem.notification.mail.from MY_EMAIL
com.ibm.team.workitem.notification.mail.reply MY_EMAIL

The work item email notification worked. I wonder if this will be changed so the default installation comes with these values (which I would think most users would want). Either way, I probably missed this info in the Setup Guide, but at least we got a great convo going : )

Note: MY_EMAIL = any valid email address on the SMPT host being used.

I don't see these properties in teamserver.properties

I am using RC4. How can I set these properties to enable the mail notification?

Hello,

I had exactly the same problem.

MY EMAIL SETTINGS
-----------------
Enable E-mail Notification = true
SMTP Server = "my-e-mail-server-name"
SMTP Server port = "my e-mail port"
SMTP Username none
SMTP Password none
Restrict To Whitelist = false
Whitelist = none
E-mail From Address = "myemail"
E-mail From Name = "myemail"
SMTP Reply Address = "myemail"
Use STARTTLS = true

Previously the notifications worked perfectly, but since some days: no more notification, even for new W.I.
Nothing had change (it what we think)

Anyway, we found a "work around" but not a proper solution.

1. Change the e-mail server name to a wrong name / save
2. Disable the e-mail notification / save
3. Set the correct e-mail server name again / save
4. Enable / save

Obviously, there should be a smarter way to reset this config, but I didn't find it and this "cra..." method worked for us.

Hope, it can help ... but I still interested by a smarter answer ;o)

I am also having the same problem. Initially mail notifications worked fine but it is not....please suggest some solutions...

@ JazzatEC I tried your workaround solution but it didn't worked...
