Make upload and formatting of requirements efficient IBM DOORS NG

Hello,

We are trying to automate the upload and formatting of requirements.

We have produced an Excel format that allows us to upload multiple columns including the clause number, text, and artifact type. However, there is a still a significant amount of manual work to promote/demote text for the right hierarchy and to insert tables.

Alternatively, uploading from a word document allows us to use text styling to get the correct text hierarchy and insert tables in the right place, but does not allow multiple columns like the clause number and artefact type to be uploaded in different columns.

Do you have any advice on how to improve the efficiency of this process? For example:

  • Is it possible to utilise both the word and excel formats together in the upload process to benefit from their different strengths?
  • Is it possible to format the Excel (or csv) format to get the text into the right hierarchy?

Any advice on the best approach to use to reduce the manual updates required following upload into DOORS would be really appreciated.
