Report Builder report - performance differences when embedded in an ERM/DNG project dashboard

A report builder report (table format) completes and returns ~8k artifacts when run in Report Builder on a Global Configuration.
When the same report is embedded into an ERM Project dashboard and uses the same Global Configuration it never completes (time out).
Are there additional restrictions on ERM project dashboard data set size or other dashboard performance-throttling/timeout settings that would explain this behaviour? Or any other explanation?

Adrian, the only explanation is that the filter used in the dashboard is different. The best way to investigate this, is compare the SPARQL being run in LQE for both cases and see if there are any differences. The LQE health and monitoring page lists completed queries and queries still in progress.
