DNG 2 Components Same Project vs Separate Projects

Sean F (1.3k243150) | asked Jun 21 '18, 11:08 a.m.
I have been playing a bit with components in DNG.

A component seems to behave like a separate project in that it has its own artifacts/types/folders etc.

I know that having a configuration management enabled component allows configurations from that component (streams/baselines) to be included in global configurations.

But that could also be achieved by having 2 separate projects (with CM enabled and a single default component in each project).

What are the advantages of having 2 components in the same project area vs having 2 components in 2 separate project areas?

OK I see that 'Manage this Project Area' (timelines, members, roles, teams etc.) is not component specific so having 2 components in 1 project means only having to manage one set of these properties.
