Changing the password for the primary administrative account for Standalone LDAP registry?!

Matthew Clark (10711347) | asked Jun 12 '17, 11:37 a.m.

CLM version 6.0.3 iFix003
WebSphere version 8.5.5.11

I need to change some passwords in Active Directory for my service accounts. Is there anywhere in WebSphere, or teamserver.properties, or anywhere else that I need to change the password as well?

Could this potentially break anything in my Jazz environment? I just want to cover all my bases before making this change.

Thanks!

Hi Matthew

Yes, it is important to make sure the following users are not affected or passwords are updated.

a. DB Passwords
- Present in each application "teamserver.properties" file
- Location <JAZZ_INSTALL_HOME>\server\conf\<app> where app can be jts, ccm, qm, rm and others.

b. LDAP Bind Password
i. Used for configuring security on each WebSphere Application Server Profile (Multiple WAS profiles for a distributed setup)
- Login to WAS Admin Console
- Click on Security > Global Security > Configure (Next to Standalone LDAP Registry)
- The User/Password information is entered under "Bind distinguished name (DN)" and "Bind Password"

ii. The bind user details is also mentioned in JTS configuration
- Location <JAZZ_INSTALL_HOME>\server\conf\jts\teamserver.properties

Shubjit

Unfortunately, after completing the above, we have had some weird LDAP related issues with regards to Jazz.

PMR# 91869.442.000 has been created to help resolve the issue. Tech support states that we need to copy an encrypted password from the security.xml file and paste it into the LDAP Password section of the JTS teamserver.properties file. Does that sound right?
