RTC 6.0.3: How do I merge work item types from different project templates?

Heather Linsk (1422251) | asked Apr 13 '17, 8:58 a.m.

Folks on my team have independently developed specialized work items that I would like to combine into a single project template.

What is the best method to do this?

Thanks,
Heather

It has to be done manually.

Besides the UI method, you can also try to copy the XML source (only the appropriate parts) and put it into the merged project area.

Also to clarify, usually we do not manipulate the "template" directly. Instead, we customize an exiting project area, and when satisfied, export a template out from it.

Donald - Thanks for your response.

Are there any plans to create this functionality in the future?

I'm not aware of any existing work item on this. I suggest you submit an RFE.
