Why do comments on an artifact removed from a module disappear?

Hello, I'm using DNG 6.0.3. When an artifact is removed from a module, the comments on the artifact disappear. I cannot even see the comments in the artifact history. Easy to duplicate: Create a module, create artifacts inside the module, add a comment to an artifact, remove the artifact from the module, search for that artifact id and view it, the comments are gone. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Richard

This is another example of not understanding the difference between a "module artifact" and its underlying "base artifact". Not blaming you, as it is confusing to lots of people.

In your use case, when you create an artifact inside a module, actually two (with the same ID) are created, with one being the module artifact and the other base artifact. When you add the comment, it is added to the module artifact. When you remove the artifact from the module, you effectively delete the module artifact, along with its comment(s). The base artifact remains, unless you choose to delete it when prompted.

Thanks a lot Donald. I am a long time legacy DOORS user, but I am new to DOORS Next Generation. After some experimentation I discovered what you described, and I can see the logic in it. Thanks again.
