Hi i would lie to know what is the diference between Team Concert and Quality manager. I had work with QM and it jazz server, but i would like to know more about Team Concert, also does i need to use a separate jazz server for each one or can i just install both product using the same jazz server. I ask because there is a place at the jazz server with quality that said Team Concert.

Hi,

basically Team Concert adresses the needs of developers, providing highly integrated work item tracking, software change and configuration management, continuous building, planning on several levels and reporting.
There is an integration into Eclipse and Visual Studio.Net provided.

You can find excessive information about what Team concert provides here: https://jazz.net/projects/rational-team-concert/

Rational Quality Manager specializes on supporting the test management and execution roles in development. It uses Jazz components shared with RTC (e.g. work items) to provide capabilities to create and manage test plans, test cases, integrate test automation tools, manage test lab resources, and track and report test results etc.

More information is provided here: http://jazz.net/projects/rational-quality-manager

Both tools integrate to support higher level application lifecycle management.

I believe it is not possible at this time to install and run Team Concert and Quality manager in one Tomcat server. You should be able to do a side by side installation on one machine however provided you change the ports used by the products to avoid overlapping. According to http://jazz.net/library/technote/304 however there is currently an issue with integrating the tools if the server name is identical. I have not tried myself if this limitation can be worked around using an alias for one of the products.
