How to compile RTC source

Rick Chapman (7111312) | asked May 20 '08, 11:20 p.m.
I need to run the RTC scm command on my Linux-ppc system but there is no package provided for that platform. The regular linux package does not work on Linux-ppc. So, I guess I need to download the source zip and compile it myself. The source zip is not provided for RTC 1.0 Beta 3 so I downloaded it for RTC 1.0 M6. After unzipping the TeamConcert-Source-1.0M6.zip file, I could not find any instructions for how to build it to produce the client scm binary. Can someone provide me with build/make instructions? Or is there another way to obtain an RTM scm binary that will run on the Linux-ppc platform. Thanks!

The launcher is just an eclipse launcher. But besides the launcher you
will also need binaries for SWT and a few other plugins.

It will be much easier for you to just download eclipse for your platform
and then link the jazz, emf, gef and dtp plugins into it.

Just to let you know: source code is available for beta 3.

Just go to the download page, and click "All Downloads". At the bottom you will find both Jazz Team Server Source and RTC Source.

FWIW, I have run RTC on a RH Linux on an IBM PPC server (up through RTC
Beta 2 M4). The only change was to install and use the IBM JRE for that
environment.

Jim, you're a genius. I can't believe I didn't notice that I was pointing to the wrong JRE. After pointing it to a linux-ppc compatible JRE it works. Thanks!
