Dears,

We are planning to upgrade CLM version(RTC/RQM/RRC) from  4.0.1 to latest version 6.0.1. Also now all applications(RTC/RRC/RQM) are installed in single server in our environment but we want to migrate the RRC application from current server to new server and RQM to another new server after the upgradation of CLM version.  So could you please let us know the steps for the upgradation?

FYI,

Environment details:
1. CLM applications installed on Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise & 64-bit Operating System
2. Database: Microsoft SQL server 2008
3. Application server: IBM WebSphere server version 8.0.0.5
4. User registry: LDAP user registry

Thanks,

Rajiv

Hi Rajiv,

It is possible to move applications to a different application server, this change requires the use of a proxy server to maintain links to that application. However, you might need some help from a professional services team unless you can consider to set up multiple Jazz application server instances.

Cheers,
Will

And I should add, that you probably want to move the Reporting Service and the Lifecycle query Index to another server too. They should not sit on the same server with any application or JTS, as they are quite resource intensive. See https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Deployment/RecommendedALMDeploymentTopologies6 for an enterprise topology.
