How to create Design Manager 6.0 domains from profiles in Rhapsody projects?

Timothy McKemy (1082317) | asked Dec 08 '15, 1:36 p.m.

I have defined a SysML profile in a Rhapsody (8.1.3) model, and have several other Rhapsody projects that use that profile. I would like to move those project to actively managed DM projects. The problem is that the profile must be imported or defined in DM as a domain first, but I can find no instructions on how to accomplish that. Remember, this is Rhapsody, not RSA. (Plenty of info on RSA.)

Can anyone help me?

In this case, SysML domain should be automatically associated with your Project Area when you moved your SysML-based model to the server; the same applies to other profiles including Harmony, UPDM, Simulink etc. To check the list of associated domains with your Project Area,  go to Design Domain section in the project setting page. In Rhapsody DM, domains for popular profiles like UML/SysML are available by default. Also, The task of domain creation is fairly automated thus you don't really need to manually import or create your own from scratch unless you want to use a non-existent domain. BTW, if you want to create your own domain, the easiest way would be to use Rhapsody client, see https://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSB2MU_8.1.3/com.ibm.dm.rhap.client.doc/topics/t_dm_create_domain_profile.html and http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21645550.
