Change creation date of a work item

I am copiying (sic) work items from one project area to anothr (don't ask
:)
By doing that, I am effectively creating a new work item
How can I hack to change the creation date ?
I know I won't be supported :) but can I change the date in the database ?
Can I change the attribute to NOT be readonly ?

I would think you could accomplish this by changing the presentation for the work item in question. I haven't tried this myself but it should then work like the other date attributes.

Open the Process configuration tab, Project Configuration, Configuration Data, Work Items, Editor Prsentations
Select the work item type from the drop down
Find the Creation Date attribute (probably under Details)
Click the Edit button and remove readonly property

Sync the attributes of the existing Work Items (that you've created)

Cheers

Thanks but it did not work
I created a small script that changes the data of existing work item
I submitted it to the Zurich lab to be included as a sample

Cheers :)
