How can we run 'RQM Command Line Adapter' as a Windows Service?

Beat Jäggli (112) | asked Sep 15 '15, 10:54 a.m.

We are using RQM Command Line Adapter 5.0.200.

But the CMD Window is not what we want, it might be closed by manipulations.
It should run as a system-user too.
Is there a way to run it as a service?

I could register it, but it does not start: 'FAILED 1053' (when 'Run as Administrator')

Please help, thanks

Hi Beat,

Commercial tools exist that facilitate running any application as a Windows Service which you may want to consider.  I've not tried any but some examples include:

http://www.coretechnologies.com/products/AlwaysUp/

http://www.firedaemon.com/

One possibly complicating factor, however, is that when the Command Line Adapter is started it tries to communicate with RQM and if RQM is not yet running the Command Line Adapter will stop running (but both of the tools I mentioned state that the application is monitored and automatically restarted so it may be a non-issue).
