Silent install IBM Install Manager with RTC and Compuware plugins

Benoit Ebner (812) | asked Aug 28 '15, 4:57 a.m.
Hi everybody,

We begin the installation of RTC in my company. We already use Compuware Eclipse plugins (Xpediter, File-AID...).
We try several method to integrate RTC and the Compuware plugins. The only way I found to produce a good mix without problem is a installation of RTC through Install Manager with the Compuware plugins in it.

But, I have a question about the deployment of this solution on all our developer PC. I don't found a "silent install" for the RTC + plugins. I try the dropins, the copy/paste of the directory, nothing work.

Did Install Manager have the possibility to create new package or can upgrade RTC with other plugins in it?

Thanks for the answer!!

You can silent install RTC Eclipse client with Installation Manager, that's not a problem. The challenge is to add the Compuware p2 plugin after that. You may consider using the "p2 director" tool to do this, see Chris's answer in the below post and other references.
