Are links preserved in Design Manager model after change?

Daniel Stewart (431520) | asked Jul 16 '15, 10:37 a.m.

Are links preserved when a model is changed? I have a DM project area that is set up for external management.

In the following use case:

1. Model A has 3 blocks and is imported into DM from RTC SCM. Links are created for 3 blocks from DM to DNG.

2  Model A is updated in Simulink and one block is removed. This is then checked into RTC and imported to DM.

Now in DM will this override Model A from step 1?

Will the links be retained for the other 2 blocks?

Or will the user need to create links again?

Thanks,

Dan

I assume you mean Model A is a Rhapsody model, while the Block is representing some Simulink model.

The Rhapsody Design Manager Import Engine supports incremental changes. Therefore it will identify the changes in the model, and delete the Block from the model.

As the OSLC links are stored seperately as the model, the links won't be modified, as a result the 2 links will still exists. As a side effect the 3rd link of the deleted Block will also still exists (as a dangling link).
