Running two jazz installations concurrently on the same server

We want to use Doors Nex and Design Manager together so we have found we need separate installations of jazz. I have this but can only run one at a time. RTC and DNG has the default ports and on the DM side I changed the server file of tomcat to modify all ports to different numbers and updated the dm and vvc teamserver to change all ports. Yet after changing ports and having both installs in different folders, I can have one running and the other will flash on the tomcat window. Any clue as to other things I need to check for? I do see the startup box setting the variables before kicking off over to catalina and I am running both from an admin console. Thanks
