 My understanding is that this error results from an issue within a given artifact.  Is there any way that i can figure out which artifact among many is an issue?  What specifically might the "issue" be?

Without debugging and looking into the log files, it is quite hard to say what the "issue" might be. Some users reported that the error went away after rebooting the server. I suggest you contact Support if the problem persists.
